Citadel Contrast: Apothecary White (18ml)
A “secret weapon” Contrast for white and very light colours: it creates clean, cool shadows and definition fast—perfect for white armour, cloth, bone-adjacent highlights, and quick tabletop-ready shading without heavy layering.
What it does
Bases, shades, and highlights in one application (Contrast workflow).
Gives controlled shading on light surfaces—great for adding depth to whites and off-whites.
Water-based formula in an 18ml pot.
How to use
Prime with a light Contrast undercoat like Grey Seer or Wraithbone (Grey Seer = cooler, Wraithbone = warmer).
Apply a generous, even coat and pull excess paint away from flat panels before it dries.
Let it fully dry, then optionally add a crisp edge highlight with a pure white/off-white for a “studio” finish.
Best for
White armour (clean panel lines and recess shading)
Cloth, robes, capes, parchment, and light stone
Quick shading step before highlights on anything “almost white”

ChalkyDot Tip: Want smoother results on big flat white plates? Do two thin passes instead of one heavy coat—first pass for overall tint, second pass only into recesses. You’ll keep the white cleaner while still getting definition.
