AK Weathering Pencil – Dark Blue (AK10008)

A deep blue tone for chips, panel accents, deep shading, and worn blue paint. Dark Blue is ideal when you want stronger contrast than a mid-blue, but still keep the effect colored rather than grey or black.

What it does

  • Adds deep blue wear on edges, chips, and scratched paint areas

  • Helps define panels and recesses with a blue-tinted shadow

  • Great for small markings, stripes, and reinforced “painted metal” details

How to use

  • Apply on a matte surface along edges, seams, and chips.

  • Blend with a slightly damp brush to soften marks into natural wear.

  • Build up gradually—keep most of it subtle and concentrate the strongest tone in corners.

Best for
Blue vehicles and armor, sci-fi panels, markings and stripes, edge wear, deep shading on colored schemes.

Key details

  • Water-based
  •  Highly controllable
  •  Blendable with water
  •  Easy cleanup
  •  Best results on matte finishes.

ChalkyDot Tip
Try it for “colored panel lining”: draw into recesses, then soften lightly with water so it reads as shadowed paint, not a drawn line.
