Vallejo Game Color: Dead Flesh
A pale, unhealthy greenish flesh tone for zombies, undead skin, plague creatures, sickly highlights, and grim fantasy details. Perfect when normal skin tones need to look cold, rotten, or cursed.
What it does
- Water-based acrylic made for Fantasy & Wargame figures.
- New Game Color formulation is designed to be smooth, fluid, opaque, and highly pigmented for stable, bright colour.
- Dries with a matt finish and self-levelling behaviour to help reduce visible brush strokes.
- Built with modern resins for better resistance to handling and rubbing, useful for tabletop miniatures.
How to use
- Apply over a primed surface for best adhesion and coverage.
- Shake well, then paint 2 thin coats for a smooth undead-skin base.
- Shade recesses with green-brown, purple, or sepia wash for a sickly effect.
- Re-layer Dead Flesh on raised areas, then highlight with a small mix of Dead Flesh + ivory/off-white.
Best for
- Zombies, ghouls, undead skin, plague victims
- Sickly faces, hands, scars, bruised fantasy skin
- Monster bellies, swamp creatures, goblin/orc highlights
- Pale organic details like boils, tentacles, eggs, and rotten wounds
ChalkyDot Tip: For fast undead skin, base with Dead Flesh, shade the eye sockets and wounds with a thin purple-brown wash, then highlight the nose, cheekbones, fingers, and knuckles with Dead Flesh mixed with a little ivory.
