Citadel Colour Technical: Lahmian Medium 
A “paint without pigment” — the secret weapon for smoother blends, cleaner glazes, and thinning Citadel colours without breaking the paint.
 
What it does
Mix with other Citadel paints to create your own glazes (subtle tints, smooth transitions).
Thins colour while keeping the pigment stable, so your paint stays smooth and consistent (less chalky/tide-mark risk than water-only thinning).
Dries even and matte, great for controlled layering and soft shading.
 
How to use
Put a little paint on your palette.
Add Lahmian Medium a drop at a time and mix (start around 1:1 for a glaze, then adjust).
Apply in thin passes, letting each one dry before the next to build smooth colour shifts.
Optional: Mix a tiny amount into Shades to soften and control them on flat areas.
 
Best for: Glazing cloth/skin, smoothing blends on armour panels, tinting metallics, and “fixing” paints that feel too strong or streaky when thinned with water.
