Vallejo Game Color: Night Blue
A deep, moody navy blue that’s perfect for “night” schemes. Great for shadows on blue armour, dark cloth, capes, and cold fantasy tones where you want depth without going full black.
 
What it does
Water-based acrylic made for Fantasy & Wargame figures.
Dries matte and opaque, designed primarily for brush painting.
Newer Game Color formulation is commonly described as smoother/more fluid, more opaque, high pigment saturation, with excellent self-levelling (fewer visible brush marks).
Formulated for tabletop use with a resin system aimed at better resistance to frequent handling/rubbing.
 
How to use
Prime your model (light primer = slightly brighter navy, black primer = deeper “night” look).
Apply 2 thin coats for the smoothest finish (especially on flat panels).
Shade recesses with an even darker blue/black wash, then re-layer Night Blue on raised areas to keep it rich.

As a “shadow blue” under brighter blues/teals
 
ChalkyDot Tip: Use Night Blue as your “shadow base,” then highlight up with a cleaner mid-blue and finish with tiny edge highlights. Small bright lines make navy look deep and premium without turning it cartoony.
