AK Weathering Pencil – Smoke (AK10032)

A translucent grey tone made for soot haze, smoke staining, and soft exhaust marks. Smoke is perfect when black is too harsh—you get a more natural “dirty air” effect that you can blend and control with water.

What it does

  • Creates realistic smoke/soot shading around vents, barrels, engines, and exhausts

  • Adds soft burnt haze on panels and armor plates without heavy contrast

  • Great for subtle grime filters on light colors and urban/industrial terrain

How to use

  • Apply on a matte surface around the area you want stained.

  • Blend outward with a slightly damp brush to create a natural gradient.

  • Layer lightly—smoke effects look best built up slowly.

Best for
Exhausts, muzzle staining, engine vents, burn marks on vehicles, industrial terrain, grimdark shading on light armor.

Key details

  • Water-based
  •  Highly controllable
  •  Blendable with water
  •  Easy cleanup
  •  Best results on matte finishes.

ChalkyDot Tip
Always fade outward: keep the darkest tone closest to the source (vent/exhaust), then blend away so it looks like real soot buildup.
