Vallejo Game Color: Bone White
A warm, creamy off-white bone tone for skulls, horns, claws, parchment, teeth, aged cloth, drybrushing, and natural highlights. Perfect when pure white would look too harsh on a miniature.
What it does
- Water-based acrylic made for fantasy & wargaming miniatures.
- New Game Color formulation is designed to be smooth, fluid, opaque, and highly pigmented, with good light stability.
- Dries with a matt finish and self-levelling behaviour to help reduce visible brush strokes.
- Built with modern resins for better resistance to handling and rubbing, useful for tabletop gaming pieces.
How to use
- Apply over a primed surface for best adhesion and coverage.
- Shake well, then paint 2 thin coats for a smooth bone/off-white base.
- Shade recesses with sepia, brown, or grey wash depending on the material.
- Re-layer Bone White on raised areas, then add tiny ivory/white highlights for sharp definition.
Best for
- Skulls, bones, teeth, claws, horns, tusks, and skeletons
- Parchment, scrolls, candles, aged cloth, ropes, and wraps
- Drybrushing rocks, ruins, bases, desert terrain, and wood texture
- Soft highlights over browns, tans, greys, leather, and warm skin tones
ChalkyDot Tip: For realistic bone, base with Bone White, shade with sepia, then re-layer Bone White on the raised areas. Add pure white only on the sharpest tips. Too much white makes bone look flat instead of aged.
