Vallejo Xpress Color Templar White is a transparent matt acrylic color designed to flow naturally over miniature surfaces, creating light raised areas, soft mid-tones, and delicate shadows in the recesses with a single expressive layer. It is ideal for fast tabletop painting, white clothing, spectral effects, pale creatures, and clean highlight work. Vallejo recommends applying Xpress Color over a white or grey primed or painted surface for best results.
 
What it does
Creates a soft templar white tone with gentle contrast and definition.
Works especially well over white or grey primer, where the color naturally separates into raised highlights, mid-tones, and shaded recesses.
Excellent for white robes, tabards, angelic armor, pale cloth, ghostly effects, bone details, feathers, fur, and fantasy characters.
Can be used for glazes, filters, soft shading, contouring, and blending transitions.
Can be mixed with other Xpress Colors or diluted with Xpress Medium to create softer tones and custom shades.
 
How to use
Prime or basecoat the miniature in white or light grey.
Shake the bottle well before use.
Apply with a brush and let the paint flow naturally into the recesses.
Avoid overworking the surface while drying to keep the contrast smooth and clean.
For softer or more controlled results, dilute with Vallejo Xpress Medium.
It can also be used with an airbrush for tinting, filters, and smooth color effects.

Use Templar White over a white or zenithal prime when you want white areas to keep their brightness while still gaining soft shadows. For robes, tabards, and angelic armor, add a final edge highlight with pure white or off-white to make the raised folds stand out cleanly on the tabletop.
