Citadel Layer: Warpfiend Grey (12ml)
A smooth purple-grey Layer paint made for clean highlights and controlled layering—especially good for “dark flesh”, muted cloth, and sinister purple-grey armour tones where you want depth without going too bright.
 
What it does
Built for crisp highlights and building up layers over Base paints.
Dries to a smooth matt finish for tidy, readable transitions.
Water-based acrylic, easy to thin and control.
 
How to use
Apply over a darker basecoat (purple, dark grey, or purple-brown tones).
Thin slightly and build up 2–3 thin coats on raised areas and edges.
For extra smooth blends, glaze it into mid areas (very thin paint) to soften transitions.
 
Best for
Highlighting daemon/undead skin tones and bruised/arcane effects
Cloth, straps, and leather where you want a cold, desaturated highlight
Adding a muted purple-grey step before a final lighter highlight

ChalkyDot Tip: Warpfiend Grey is amazing as a “grim highlight” on dark colours—keep it tight to upper folds and edges, then add only tiny final corner dots with a lighter grey/off-white for maximum crispness.
